Promoting Public Parks

The Trust for Public Land

The benefits of public parks are many. They connect us to nature and provide opportunities for recreation. Being near green spaces may even boost our mental health.

The Trust for Public Land’s mission is to create parks and land for people. Schema worked with the nonprofit to design and build an application that allows cities to understand and compare the access and quality of their park systems. Through the platform, cities can see their individual ParkScore and their ranking among 100 major US municipalities. By viewing their scores broken down by access, investment, acerage, and amenities, cities can understand their strengths and pinpoint areas for improvement. The application is an important tool that The Trust for Public Land can use to motivate policymakers to create more, and better, parks. View the application.
